When you first load the game up you are given a very basic tutorial of how to play.  The controls could not really be more simple.  All you do is tilt your device and swipe in the direction you want your explorer to go.  You can also swipe up for jumping and down for sliding.  The idea behind the game is to run as far as you can collecting as many coins as you can.  If you stumble a few times you are caught by your pursuers or if you fall or crash into an object, it’s the end of your turn. 

Although this is a very simple concept, there are things that make the game more interesting.  You can upload your score to game centre and take on your friends.  There is a long list of achievements you can work your way through and there are lots of other things to enjoy.  One clever aspect is that the game is progressive.  Although each time you play you basically do the same run, as you progress points are easier to come by.  Your multiplier increases the more you play, you can pick up bonuses and improve the distance you run and you can also use special features. 

When you first play Temple Run there are no bonus items to collect.  To unlock these you must visit the store and spend some of the coins you have collected.  You can improve the bonus offers as you progress in the game.  You can also unlock new characters and buy special items that help you to run further.

First of all let’s talk about tips for Temple Run.  One thing that people are often baffled by is how to resurrect.  This is one of the achievements and people sometimes wonder how this is possible.  It’s actually very easy, in the store if you scroll down you can purchase the wings, which give you a resurrection.  All you need to do to use them is double tap the screen when running.  If you die when you have your wings, you will gain a resurrection.  To get the double resurrection achievement simply buy two sets of wings and use them twice. 

Using the resurrection wings is a great way to go long distances when playing Temple Run.  When the speed gets to much for you, use these and make sure you kill yourself.  Then when you resurrect the speed will have slowed down some and you can run further.

An obvious but important tip is to get all your bonus offers maxed out as quickly as possible.  This makes the game much easier and will also increase the value of the coins that you are collecting, thus making it easier to buy more utilities.  Other than that all it really takes is practice and quick reactions.

Some of you will no doubt be looking for Temple Run cheats.  Well there are a few we can give you.  One simple but very clever cheat can be used by turning the tutorial on in the options page.  When you start running, on the first few corners swipe the direction you wish to go twice very fast.  Do this a few times and the screen should flicker a little, then you will just run in a straight line forever.  The distance will just stack up without you having to do anything.  The only downside to this cheat is that you don’t pick up any coins along the way.

There are a few other cheats that you can use for the game but these involve jail breaking your iPhone are we are not sure if they even work at this current time.  If we do come across anymore simple cheats for Temple Run we will update this page and let you know of them.
